Sullivan's Hollow is a small tract of land nestled among the pine trees and rolling hills of south-central Mississippi. Thomas "Pappy Tom" Sullivan settled the area that is now Smith county in the early 1800s. He had 22 children and 20o grandchildren. The area quickly became known as "Sullivan's Hollow".

The Sullivans were a proud, hard-working bunch with a cautious eye for outsiders. Anyone traveling through the area was sure to be on their best behavior. There is no doubt that Sullivan's Irish temper and stubbornness contributed to the feuds and fighting that led to the area's reputation for lawlessness.

But there's more to the story...

Join me as we travel back 200 years and discover how this area overcame its bad reputation to become one of the most peaceful and respectable communities in Mississippi.
